A permit issued under this ordinance shall expire one year after the date granted, unless a shorter time is specified in the permit conditions. If the permittee is unable to complete the work within the specified time, the permittee may, before expiration of the permit, present in writing to the city engineer a request for an extension of time, stating the reasons for the requested extension. If, in the opinion of the city engineer, such an extension is necessary, the city engineer may grant additional time for completion of the work. [BC 9.05.095, amended by Ordinance No. 4249, 4/7/03]
