Except as otherwise provided by law, an individual who is assigned a right or delegated a duty under this code may assign the right or delegate the duty to a deputy or other authorized representative unless a designated alternate or representative has been identified by other means. The individual that assigned the right or delegated the duty under this code remains responsible for the performance of the assigned right or delegated duty by the deputy or other authorized representative. A delegation of authority may be revoked or modified at any time by the individual who assigned the right or delegated the duty. [BC 1.01.040, amended by Ordinance No. 4794, 12/1/20]
