Pursuant to the Beaverton Charter, the city council, by majority vote of the entire city council, shall appoint a city manager, city attorney, auditor, and municipal judges for the City.

A. Reviews. The city manager, city attorney, auditor, and municipal judges for the City shall each be subject to an annual review by the city council.

B. Removals. Any person appointed by the city council may be removed when there are four affirmative votes by council members to remove the appointed officer.

C. Interference. The city council may meet with a municipal judge, but in no instance shall the city council be permitted to interfere with a municipal judge’s exercise of judicial authority or discretion. [BC 2.11.055, added by Ordinance No. 4764, 6/11/19; amended by Ordinance No. 4794, 12/1/20]
